'We Dig Matariki' Market

Sunshine Events and I Love Takapuna is excited to be sharing a great day out with you all, celebrating the newest entry to the annual public holiday calendar, Matariki.

This deserves to be celebrated with equal amounts of dignity, respect and education. With this we present “We Dig Matariki”.

Come down to the Hurstmere Green where we offer an event celebrating everything reflected by the Nine Star cluster that is Matariki. Whilst Matariki traditionally serves as an indication of the Maori New Year, it represents so much more. You may not know this but the Nine Stars all signify something unique and special – symbolizing so much more than just a celestial body.

We will have free workshops, live music and performances and we will also take the chance to celebrate some botanical magic embracing Takapuna’s rich volcanic soils as a beacon to this event. Come celebrate our Taonga with a fun-filled day out suitable for all the whānau.
