Where Are You From

Nau mai, haere mai! We would love to invite you to a new exhibition at Thistle Hall - opening night on Monday 29th August at 5.30pm.

Featuring works by artists Bonnie Chen, Hannah Zhong and Yuri Takemoto with music by Yumoi Zheng, ‘Where Are You From’ is a group exhibition showing at Thistle Hall Gallery Space from 29th August to 4th September.

Through painting, ink illustration and sonic sound the artworks in ‘Where Are You From’ explore the experiences of the artists’ growing up as Asians in Aotearoa. Reflecting on past identity dilemmas, the exhibition encapsulates warm moments and memories to celebrate a sense of home and belonging.

OPENING NIGHT: Monday 29th August at 5.30pm
EXHIBITION SHOWING: Monday 29th August to Sunday 4th September (11.00am - 6.00pm)
WORKSHOP DAY: Saturday 3rd September
(2.00pm - 4.00pm)
