Winetopia Club nights are all about discovering great wines with good company. For this event we are excited to be welcoming you into UnserHaus in Parnell where acclaimed chef Des Harris (Culinary Director of the Hilton Auckland and ex Clooney executive chef), will be preparing some signature snacks on in the Gaggenau kitchen to match with the wines.
We have representatives from three outstanding wineries for the occasion who will guide us through two- three of their most recent releases each:
Esses Wine from Kaikoura who specialise in single estate, late disgorgement sparkling wine made in the Champagne style. We will be one of the first to taste the new release Esses wines and in our opinion, these are some of the most exciting discoveries of last year’s Winetopia event.
Pisa Range Estate from Central Otago strive to create outstanding wines that truly express their ‘sense of place’. Family owned, boutique and with a focus on minimal intervention, they are known to make stunning Pinot Noir and a small selection of delicious whites as well.
Fromm, also organic and following Biodynamic principles are widely known for their refined Pinot Noir and Syrah with Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blanc & Chenin Blanc to match.
Find something you like and you’ll be able to order a case on the night.
Food served by Chef Des Harris:
1. Crayfish eclair - Buttermilk fried bluff oyster
2. Cured salmon lavosh - persimmon pickle, caviar
3. Flame grilled Tua Tua - pickled garlic butter
4. Duck breast - cherry, licorice, chocolate
5. Hand-picked beef - blue cheese, NZ spinach
As always, it is the people who make the Winetopia Club Nights the great occasions that they are. So shake off the working week with a trip to UnserHaus to meet up with the winetopia team, club members and friends.
