Newcomers Night, every Thursday 7-9pm, all welcome. Each evening is standalone, explore meditation & Buddhism in a supportive space.

The Buddhist view of Reality is that everything in the universe exists in dependence on conditions from the conditions that govern the natural world to the conditions that determine the sort of person we will become and whether our experience of life with be positive and bright or dark and friendless. The good news is that we can influence the latter to benefit not only ourselves but others too.

NEWCOMERS NIGHT: ALL WELCOME
The evening takes place in two halves. In the first half, we’ll introduce an aspect of Buddhism with an opportunity for discussion. After a short break, we’ll explore one of two Buddhist meditations.

Talks:
We introduce traditional teachings of the Buddha in a way that is accessible and practical to everyday life in the modern world. Usually the format is a talk, with an opportunity for questions and discussion.
We have a set series of topics that we cycle through, covering Buddhist ethics, meditation theory and Buddhist wisdom. Every night will stand alone so there is no need for any previous knowledge for any evening and you can start coming at any point in the cycle.

Meditation:
We teach two Buddhist meditation practices: Mindfulness of Breathing, for developing awareness, integration and clarity of mind; and Development of Loving Kindness, which brings about a gentle but radical transformation of our emotional world.

We will help you to set up in good posture and give a fully led practice, so there is no need for any previous experience.

Our Centre runs on generosity. No-one is paid, teachers give their time freely and all tasks related to running the Centre are done by volunteers.

The WBC gives people the tools to work with their minds. Now more than ever, we all need resilience, awareness and positivity.

Support the WBC with your generosity by giving what you can, suggested donation $5-$15.
