World of Cultures: Latin American Zumba

Zumba was created in the 1990s by Colombian dancer and choreographer Beto Pérez.

After forgetting his music one day, Pérez used a cassette tape featuring Latin dance music (Salsa and Merengue) and the craze for Zumba was born.
