Join us over the long weekend for a retreat, inspired by the Daoist Yang Sheng (養生) "life nourishment" practices and teachings.
The purpose of this retreat is to discover, plant and nourish seeds within that lead towards good health, vitality & happiness.
Yang Sheng practices & teaching focus on prevention of disease, depletion, imbalances & nourishing life to its fullest.
Taught by Kate & Henri Lebedev, whom have travelled the world dedicating their lives to studying the internal arts of QiGong, NeiGong, TaiJi, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yang Sheng, Daoism, Buddhism, Yogic practices & more.

Activities are designed with a rhythmic flow, changing from theory to practice to rest.
- Alignment with lunar & solar cycles (Chinese lunar New Year - year of the Tiger - is on 1 February, 2022)

6.00 - 7.00 am Personal wakeup practice
7.00 - 8.00 am Stretching & body conditioning routine
8.00 - 9.00 am Breakfast & tea
9.00 - 10.00 am Daily discussion topic (e.g Chinese Medicine foundations for daily life)
10.00 - 11.00 am QiGong routine group practice
11.00 - 12.00 pm Mediation & mind cultivation
12.00 - 3.00 pm Lunch, free time: e.g nature walk, swim or rest
3.00 - 4.00 pm Daoyin practices: opening the body, clearing stagnation
4.00 - 5.00 pm Stretching exercises for seated practices
5.00 - 6.00 pm Meditation practice
6.00 - 7.00 pm Dinner
7.00 - 8.00 pm Pu'erh Tea & talk on various topics
8.00 - 8.30 pm Evening meditation
8.30 pm onwards - free time & rest, one night we will walk to see the glow worms

Accomodation & Venue
The event is hosted at Te Moata retreat centre, located near Tairua town in the Coromandels (www.temoata.org). Te Moata includes 344 hectares of native forest, further surrounded by national parks and conservation areas. Pristine beaches are a 10 minutes drive away, and the glorious Cathedral Cove is >30 mins away. Te Moata has a fresh water spring running through the property, supplying the centre with (triple filtered) fresh spring water. Beautiful gardens, nature corners, waterfalls and swimming holes, monastic mountain huts, fruit and vegetable gardens are dotted all around the land of Te Moata.
Price includes accommodation at the Centre in single, double and dormitory rooms (and a few little forest cabins). There are a few cottages available for modest extra fee.
Food & Catering
All food for this retreat will be carefully chosen to optimise the experience. The food will be simple, fresh and seasonal. The recipes will include foods that suit together in combination and have healing/nourishing properties according to Chinese Medicine principles.
Who Can Join?
Suitable for young and old, those with previous experience in the Chinese arts such as TaiJi or QiGong, or those with no previous experience. Designed so practices and principles can be easily integrated into your daily life
