Be part of the worldwide Forest medicine & nature wellness movement, and join certified nature guide Mish on a forest bathing guided walk at Wild Waikawa NZ (10mins from Picton).. this is an opportunity to experience nature with a wellness lens. If you have been feeling tired, lacking energy, disconnected from nature, lacking enthusiasm or simply needing some time out to recharge & energise, this may be a lovely way to welcome in some "me" time in a place of beauty.

Honouring the ancestral guardians of this precious whenua including Te Maunga o Pirpiri, the sacred mountain of mana whenua in this area, Te Ātiawa o te Waka-a-Maui, we'll start with a sensory nature meditation exploration, moving to a mindful slow walk, then experiencing invitations for our unique group, location & nature's rhytmn and finishing with morning tea. Expect a gentle walk on mostly flat trails with group and solo time along river, open area & native forest.

Everyone has a unique experience. For some, this practice simply feels good; restorative perhaps. For others this might look like slowing right down, becoming more present, hearing words of wisdom whispered while enveloped in nature's embrace. For others it may be an enlivening of spirit, an increase in creativity and a sense of alignment. I wonder what your experience will be?

Regardless of your outcome, your health and wellness will benefit. It was scientifically proven for the first time in the forests of Iiyama, Japan in 2006 that forest bathing can "boost the immune system, increase energy, decrease anxiety, depression and anger, reduce stress and bring about a state of relaxation" says Dr. Qing Li on pg 64 of his book "Into the Forest - How trees can help you find Health and Happiness". Nature's phytoncides & ozones are healing. Since then significant worldwide medical research has shown numerous benefits of slow sensory exploration in nature.

You are in the welcoming, nurturing and professional hands of certified Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) Guide, & Business Coach and Trainer, Michelle (Mish) Clark. Mish has been a business & wellbeing coach for over 20 years, including running retreats, and more recently grows native plants for conservation biodiversity as well as nature experiences including Forest Therapy walks, EcoNidra meditations & ecotherapy.

Your venue is a private 200Ha working conservation ecosanctuary at Wild Waikawa supporting people to connect with nature through conservation and nature connection practices.
