FOLKL is a social research company that helps organisations to confidently make decisions in complex environments. Founded in 2018, our work includes in-depth consultation and engagement in a range of contexts, including urban design, healthcare, road safety, the arts, and community facilities. We have worked with a range of local councils and businesses on innovative projects you’re likely to be familiar with, or a part of. Whether we're speaking with students about the design of a new skate park, helping a membership organisation to define their strategy, or developing a new initiative to support native biodiversity, people are always at the centre of what we do. This is reflected in the name FOLKL, which is a combination of the words ‘folk’ (people and culture) and ‘focal point’ (the most important part).

We’ll run through a bit about our approach to speaking with people to understand what they’re thinking and feeling, and how we turn this into action. We'll give you practical insights and examples around how understanding and engaging with a range of voices from your community can help you to inform your strategy and priorities.
