Organised by the Seddon Lions Club, the E-Bike to the Light event will begin near the end of Marfells Beach Road where a briefing for entrants will be held at 10am. A coffee cart and something for morning tea will be on-site as our entrants assemble. A staggered departure is planned for safety reasons. The ride then travels the Cape Campbell Road for 5km and form there will traverse private property on well-formed farm tracks. The gradient could be described as 2+ because of some steeper sections (all would be easily travelled by a 2-wheel drive car in dry weather).
Two guided short detours are planned. One to the top of the Shirt Hill for a 360 panoramic view and another (conditions permitting) through the Pinoli Pine Nut Farm, 'Wind Breaker'.
There are several points of interest along the way and a hand-out will be provided to all entrants describing these and their history.
Once at the lighthouse there will be time to soak up the atmosphere of this stunning place.
A gourmet lunch, with a coastal flavour, is planned for you to enjoy at your leisure before your return ride.
Entrants are asked to depart the lighthouse by 2pm so that everyone can be checked out by 4:30pm.
There will be a tail-end-charlie checking everyone off the route who will also be available for rescues should there be any breakdowns or accidents.
