An educational, community and fundraising event to raise awareness of menopause so that more people are informed, understood and supported through this normal and inevitable stage of life.

This event - in conversation with Sarah Connor (advocate, changemaker and founder of Menopause Over Martinis) - will raise funds* for Matairangi Kindergarten in Hataitai, Wellington.

In the first half of the kōrero (7pm – 8pm), Sarah will share some facts about menopause, her personal experience, and the path she took to get the support she needed. Everyone’s experience is different so Sarah will highlight the potential changes and solutions to be aware of; some common misconceptions; the many upsides; and some valuable tips and resources to support yourself and others.

You’ll also get to learn about Menopause Over Martinis, the grassroots project Sarah founded on World Menopause Day in 2020 to help people feel informed, understood, supported and celebrated through midlife. There’ll be time to ask questions and a chance to win some fun spot prizes too.

From 8pm – 9pm, you’re welcome to keep the conversation going over a complimentary cuppa and supper. Or a drink at the cash bar.

Everyone is welcome
You might be pre-menopause, going through perimenopause/menopause or supporting someone who is - at work, home or in your community. Everyone can benefit from learning about this stage of life so anyone of any age and gender is welcome. Bring your friends, partner, family, neighbours or colleagues.

*Sarah grew up in rural Hawke’s Bay and has kindly offered to donate her speaking fee to Rural Women NZ’s Adverse Events Relief fund.
