In the lead-up to Matariki Ahi Kā , and during the long weekend, enjoy Mana Moana Pōneke - a series of indigenous short films about our ocean, projected on water, in Whairepo Lagoon.
In the evening from 6pm - 9pm, watch as millions of water droplets fall and catch the light, creating the illusion of images appearing from the darkness and floating on the water. The project is a collaboration between Māori and Pasifika musicians, artists, writers, and choreographers.
After you've enjoyed the short films, head over to Matariki Ahi Kā on the Wellington Waterfront for more spectacular, free, whānau-friendly experiences. Matariki Ahi Kā is on from 6pm - 9pm each evening between Thursday 13 and Sunday 16 July.
