Visible in the winter sky, Matariki signals the Māori New Year – heralding a time of remembrance, joy and peace. Known as a time for communities to come together and celebrate the past year.
Learn more about Puaka Matariki with Toitū these school holidays. Pick up a Maramataka or Star Trail from the Toitū Reception and work your way through the galleries as you discover snippets of information about the Māori lunar calendar and the stars in the Matariki star cluster.
Once you’ve finished the worksheets, head back to the reception desk to collect your reward.
