SOMI KIM presents PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION at the Lodge at the Hills.
Janet Jennings (NZ) - Aotearoa Pictures at an Exhibition (new commission)
Modest Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition
Visual arts meets live music.
‘Aotearoa Pictures at an Exhibition’ by New Zealand composer Janet Jennings depicts visual artworks by four celebrated contemporary NZ artists: Areez Katki; Hiria Anderson; Alberto Garcia-Alvarez; and Star Gossage. Mussorgsky’s 'Pictures at an Exhibition' encapsulates the idea of the viewer walking through a gallery; the ten movement suite portrays the viewer’s progress through the exhibition of Viktor Hartmann’s artwork. This special programme is presented in the most perfect setting; in the beautiful space at the Lodge at the Hills generously hosted by Sir Michael and Lady Christine Hill. Experience these two masterworks surrounded by wonderful architecture and art, an experience not to be missed.
