It's time for another Casual Dram and this round it's an eclectic mix of goodies from contrasting distilleries to keep us on our toes.
Here's the lineup…
Ledaig Blackadder 11 YO 2010 Raw Cask 61% (sherry puncheon)
Dailuaine 'Gordon & MacPhail' 2009 / 12 YO 57.3% (first-fill ex-sherry hogshead)
Benriach 2007 13 YO Cask 8736 Batch 17 58.1% (moscatel hogshead)
Tamdhu 'First Edition' 2007/14 YO 59.9% (sherry butt)
We like a theme and there's a fair amount to get our teeth into with this lineup, as four single casks that are aged incrementally from 11 through to 14 years old go head to head.
Will the Moscatel cask stand out from the three different sherry casks? Will the official bottling differ somehow from the three independents? And just how big a sore thumb will that peaty Islander be compared to the three Speysiders? I guess there's only one way to find out.
Join John Shearlock from Regional Wines for some single cask magic and a decent dose of whisky banter at Mean Doses bar!
