FREE TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR NOT FOR PROFITS. If you are a staff member, volunteer or a board member for a charity, you are eligible to attend.
Neurodiversity is a “hot topic” currrently. Having an understanding of what underpins the different conditions and how they may present is important in supporting your workforce as well as people, with ND, who may be accessing your services.
Topics covered:
• What is covered under the “ND banner”?
• What it might look like
• What you can do to be supportive and bring out the best in everyone
Learning outcomes:
You will leave the workshop with a better understanding of neurodiversity, the impact it can have on people as well as strategies to help support the people in your community. It is suitable for anyone working in the not for profit sector with an interest in neurodiversity.
About the facilitator:
Jacqui Scott has worked within the not for profit sector for the last 15 years, as well as having an extensive background in health, within the pharmaceutical industry.
Her experience in this area came initially from parenting her now adult son who is neurodivergent but has grown to working hands on in support services programmes catering for ND tamariki and rangatahi as well as a social group for adults.
Jacqui volunteers at The Champion Centre, an early intervention programme, and at her local primary school, as well as studying educational psychology through Massey University.
Jacqui works alongside whānau, educators and employers to best support New Zealanders with learning differences. She regularly presents to different groups across a wide range of sectors.
