‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through Hippopotamus, skilled chefs were preparing a veritable ‘feast dichotomous’ in equal measure classic and curious – a culinary delight of fine food and fanciful wine.
Slip into three-tiers of Kiwiana treats, served up the Hippo way. Tradition paired with the unorthodox, this is one melt-in-your-mouth high tea that’ll have you licking your lips.
It’s festive food, elevated. Think servings of salmon crowned with caviar. Juicy roast turkey stuffed with shavings of truffle. Lucious lamb shoulder glazed with apricot and balsamic. The Christmas feast starts here.
And the star at the top, dessert takes centre stage. A decadent chocolate Christmas tree with pistachio sponge, and of course, no Kiwi Christmas would be complete without a pavlova adorned with golden kiwifruit. Each bite is one to savour.
It’s the day before, but that’s no reason to abstain. ‘Tis the season to indulge, so let’s sabre that Champagne.
