This art show features a combination of fresh and established pieces by local artists Sam Proffit and Glynn Davies, showcasing artworks made using oils, acrylics, embroidery, and various mixed media.

Sam Proffit: A young Marlborough Artist based in Picton, her art explores the mediums of acrylic paint and embroidery to create a range of artworks on stretched canvas. Sam enjoys creating these mediums with bright colors and textures while exploring many styles and themes across her art.

Sam's art portfolio includes abstract acrylic paintings, embroidery on stretched canvas and acrylic paint carvings. The combination of these styles and mediums allows her to continuously grow her artist's experiences.

Glynn Davies: An artist working mostly in oils in a representational style. Art is how Glynn filter's the world around him on a daily basis.

Glynn loves pleinair painting as a way of getting out into nature and learning to see colour, atmosphere and forcing himself to paint quickly with more energy than in the studio. He strives to produce studio works of higher standard improving his skill sets along the way and admits to liking both a painterly style and more finely rendered work. Finding a way to work between both of these worlds is a challenge that allows Glynn to develop and integrate more abstract and graphic elements into his work.

Along with landscapes, still life, and a few bird painting, Glynn occasionally indulges in painting his fellow human beings as he loves the human spirit and sense of connection.
