We are based in the Wairarapa but play gigs regularly around the southern half of the North Island. The song list veers between swing sounds of Texas, mixed with the blues and jazz served up in the Bob and Kate way.

Bob Cooper-Grundy has pursued obscurity now for untold years playing blues guitar and singing country songs.

Kate Marshall plays violin, accordion and flute and sings quite beautifully. She started with classical piano and singing in choirs and you don't have to listen that carefully to hear Bach and Mozart lurking behind Bob Wills and Memphis Minnie.

We have played at most of the folk clubs in the Wellington area and at the Wellington, Auckland and Dunedin Folk Festivals as well as at Jazz in Martinborough. We have fond memories of the Bent Horseshoe where we played a few times with Hard Candy. More recently Kate has performed at the Hokowhitu Bowling Club with the Raven Mavens.

You can catch us at many cafes and pubs in Wellington and the Wairarapa region (or even at The Barley Mow in Portsmouth where we recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of Bob’s English roots) and you can check out the Bob and Kate Facebook page for details
We first saw Bob many years ago playing with Karen Clarke and were blown away by his guitar playing .He has the perfect style for the Blues/Americana/Country style that he plays.
He has remained one of my favourite players over the years.
Kate came to out attention when she was playing with the Raven Mavens. She came to the attention of many of you as well as i remember some been fascinated by the number of instruments she played.
They both have great voices and play a mix of covers and originals in the Americana style.
We have not seen them for a while and so we both are really looking forward to seeing them again playing the music we both love.
