Join us for 'Buwan ng Wika', translated in Filipino as Language Month. In the Philippines, Buwan ng Wika is celebrated annually in the month of August to promote the Philippines' national language, Filipino, and its indigenous languages.
Come join us for a celebration of Filipino language and culture here in Aotearoa New Zealand, specifically in Franklin! Experience the vibrant Filipino culture with us through these FREE activities:
10am: Filipino Storytime for kids
10am: 'Filipino Food and Ancient Script' Painting Workshop*
10.45 am: 3D Philippine Jeepney Craft for kids
11am: Filipino Poetry and Storytelling for teens and adults
11.30 am: Live folk dance performances - Tinikling Ethnic Dance, Subli Folk Dance and Filipino Contemporary Dance
12pm onwards: Free taste of Filipino food
Other free activities: Face painting
