Ravines, formerly known as Ophelia, emerged as a collaborative effort between composer/producer Patrick Shanahan and singer/songwriter Alex Louise in the mid-2000s. The duo produced three electronically-driven EPs with Warner NZ, Rebull NZ and others, before taking a break in 2017.
Transitioning into a solo endeavor, Alex Louise now spearheads Ravines, drawing from her roots as a folk artist during her solo performance days. Based in the Bay of Plenty, Aotearoa, her performance has evolved into a more pared-back, acoustic rendition of old songs and new.
Ravines has released 4 new singles this year, with the 5th and final track from her EP What Was Once Inspiring due to be released in Nov 2024.
