CJC: The Julie Mason Five

Pianist, vocalist and composer Julie Mason brings a set of original music to CJC. A seasoned professional, she has performed extensively at festivals throughout Australasian and the South Pacific, as well as in many European destinations including Paris, Berlin, London and Glasgow.

She spends three months every summer in Europe, not only being inspired by the world class musicians performing in Jazz Clubs and Jazz Festivals, but also by her other adventures along the way.

Julie formed this group in early 2022 with the express aim of showcasing her ever- burgeoning repertoire of originals.

With Hot Horns Mike Booth ( trumpet) and Steve Sheriff ( tenor sax), and the stellar rhythm section of Mostyn Cole ( bass) and Steve Cournane ( drums), she has workshopped her material with a view to recording her first all- originals album ( when funds permit).
