Club Latino Charlas: "How to Solve the Housing Crisis"

Join us for the first event in our Club Latino Charlas series, where we spotlight inspiring Latinos in our community! Charla means to chat and for this exciting inaugural charla, we welcome Sebastián Contreras Rodríguez, a passionate and dynamic Chilean architect and co-founder of MTspace_studio, which he leads alongside his partner Mona Petres.

The theme of the evening is "3D Printed Houses: A solution to the housing crisis?"

Sebastián will start us off with a presentation on the topic and then we will open the floor for questions.

About Sebastián:
Sebastián is an award-winning architect with a keen focus on technology, ecology, and affordable housing. He graduated from the Catholic University of Chile, furthered his studies at the Politecnico di Milano, and specialized in Integrated Urban Planning and Management in 2010. His innovative projects, spanning Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, and New Zealand, reflect cultural diversity and sustainability.

Sebastián’s groundbreaking work has earned him international recognition, including the HOLCIM Sustainable Architecture of the Year award in 2021 and first place in the ICON Initiative 99 competition for 3D-printed affordable housing in 2024. With over 15 years of teaching experience and a commitment to affordable housing, Sebastián is a visionary in the field of architecture.

Language: This chat will be in English but feel free to ask questions in Spanish too.
