Ebony Lamb, is one of New Zealand’s finest singer-songwriters, delivering a unique blend of indie-folk-alt-pop with a voice described by Rolling Stone as “imbued with the honey-soaked hue of an artist like Sharon Van Etten.”
Lamb captivates audiences with her poetic lyrics and vivid, surrealistic intimacy. As a Taite Music Prize finalist for her self-titled debut solo album, produced by two of New Zealand most prestigious artists Bic Runga and Kody Nielson (UMO), she has transformed everyday moments and memories into a rich tapestry of sound that resonates deeply with listeners.
Lamb’s reputation for delivering powerful performances has seen her support internationally lauded acts such as Beth Orton, Calexico, Jimmy Barnes, Marlon Williams, Andy Shauf and Tiny Ruins. Ebony Lamb is released on Nadia Reids boutique label “Slow Time Records” with vinyl available at all shows.
Drawing comparisons to Gillian Welch, Cat Power and Neko Case, Ebony released three critically-acclaimed albums with her former band Eb & Sparrow in Wellington New Zealand before embarking on a solo career under her own name. “EBONY LAMB” is a watershed work from a genuine talent coming into her own, the album’s first single ‘Take My Hands at Night’ was nominated for the 2023 APRA Silver Scroll Award, and album for the sought after cult favourite “Taite Music Prize” 2024.
