The Soldiers Memorial in Manchester Square, Feilding, was erected after World War One as a place where people could go and reflect on the sacrifice that so many made. Since then further records have been added to the memorial but NZ Service personnel have served (and on occasions died) in Operational areas throughout the world including service here in NZ.
Recently changes have been made to the Memorial with new handrails, a second flag pole to enable the true meaning of ANZAC to be displayed and granite blocks with operational areas have been installed around the base indicating locations that NZ Service personnel have served and continue to serve.
There is to be a short muster and Service to reflect on these changes.
