Are you interested in:

learning about what you can eat in the bush and on our coast?
trying nutritious wild grown foods?
advancing your skills for independence in a disaster/emergency?
If you answered “Yes” to any one of the above, then foraging is something fun you should try! To find out about edible native and introduced plants and seaweeds that are available locally, join Nicky Jarman on this 3-hour hands-on course.

Meet at Anō Anō, The Upcycle Space, Bank Street Kaitaia 1pm Saturday 29 June 2024

Please note you need to be able to travel to Lake Ngatu for part of the course. There will be walking involved, so please wear sturdy shoes and bring weather appropriate clothing. Car pooling may be available - contact Caryl for more info.

The course will cover:

where to legally, safely and sustainably forage!
plant and seaweed identification for this region!
how to prepare and cook the wild foods including handouts with a couple of recipes!
Spaces are limited to 12 people.
