Horsepower Rally - Traction Engines, Trucks, Tractors, Muscle Cars and Motorcycles

The South Canterbury Traction Engine and Transport Museum are proud to present their Bi-Annual expo of high horsepower machinery, both new and old

This year the theme is Steam, as Traction Engines were the original machines in our museum when it began 60 years ago

Among the machinery on display this weekend will be :-

Lots of operating Traction Engines ( Most are 100+ years old, and all on display are still working )

Threshing, Baling and Rock Crushing powered by steam engines

Many, Many vintage tractors ( And a few modern extreme machines )

Many, Many Vintage and Classic Trucks ( And some of the very latest max size rigs on the road )

Classic, Vintage and Hot Rod Cars

Assortment of vintage farm machinery

Cranes, Diggers

Assorted Stationary Engines

Huge display of Fire Engines ( Fire Service will have their Burning Kitchen Pan Oil Fire Display operating )

Helicopter rides ( Weather permitting - Rain or High Winds will ground the helicopters )


No military equipment this year due to space restraints created by expanding other exhibit areas

A Grand Parade at 1pm each day ( Followed each day by a Childrens tug-of-war with a traction engine

2 years ago, over 800 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors attend over the two days of fun filled entertainment
