Ko te reo me ōna tikanga - a FREE 9 week course

Start your te reo journey by learning Māori language and customs in this FREE introductory 9 week course at the Bayview Community Centre. Join Mark and Katene Snowden as they use our local Bayview environment to teach basic language phrases you can use in your workplace, home and community. Mark is a teacher with over twenty years experience and a passion for sharing and learning te reo Māori and tikanga. He is joined by his son Katene, an aspiring Maori language teacher who was educated in full-immersion kohanga and kura. The Bayview Community Centre welcomes the expertise of these two former Bayviewians.

In this 9 week course you will:

- hear and learn traditional knowledge about the North Shore
- learn basic language phrases to use in your workplace, home and community
- further your understanding of tikanga
- develop your confidence in using te reo in your everyday life
- share the journey with like-minded learners.
