A political farce, set in a circus world where anything might happen. With wages low and prices high housewives decide to ‘strike’ and liberate their groceries. The ensuing mayhem takes digs at politicians, workers and the police.
Written by Dario Fo and first performed in 1974 this play is still remarkably topical – what happens when inflation is rampant and low paid workers decide they can’t afford to pay! The humour arises from people unintentionally making fun (and fools) of themselves, not one another. A play full of surprises and shocks.
Directed by Pam Logan, assisted by Max Ritchie
