From growing up in Fiji to achieving social media fame and becoming the winner of MasterChef NZ, Sam Low's journey into cooking has been both unusual and exciting.
Raised in a diasporic Chinese household, Sam creates recipes with a unique take on nostalgic traditional classics, while adding a new narrative to what it means to cook modern Chinese.
In this engaging and lively session Sam speaks with food writer and Ate Ate Ate podcast host Jean Teng about his culinary journey, the food memories from his childhood, and how food is linked with identity. During the conversation, Sam will present a live cooking demonstration creating one of his most beloved Chinese dishes from his debut recipe book, Modern Chinese.
