Civic Trust Auckland's second winter lecture for 2024 is a talk  by Christopher Paxton, who will showcase some of the many photos the Auckland Library has of the windmill over its long life, two of which are of Kinder's sketches. Christopher will discuss flour mills in the early Auckland landscape, the impact of the Partington family, and Partington’s windmill and biscuit factory near Symonds Street in particular. By looking at the photographic sequence, we will be able to trace the changes that happened to the mill and the surrounding city over time.

Christopher Paxton specialises in historical and social research and recently retired from Auckland Libraries.

Afternoon tea provided.
