Be inspired by professional illustrators—from France, Germany and Poland—making a career out of their art, and glean ideas and tips to inform your own work!
You are invited to join a free workshop for tertiary students of illustration and design with leading European children’s book illustrators visiting Wellington for the Picture Me illustration festival.
Picture Me brings the rich tradition of European children’s books to Aotearoa New Zealand in a lively festival of art and ideas. The illustrators—Antje Damm, Aurore Petit, and Piotr Socha—will take part in events in bookshops, galleries and libraries for both children and adults, with workshops, panel talks, a live window painting and an illustration exhibition.
The illustrators are offering a workshop especially for tertiary students of illustration and design from Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and Massey University (you must be a student enrolled to attend). Starting with a talk from each guest about techniques and processes, the session will include a lively group illustration project and lots of time for exchange and questions. The workshop is hosted by the Visual Narrative Lab at Victoria's School of Design.
The Picture Me book Illustration festival takes place in Wellington 11–19 September
