Port Otago is opening its gates on Labour Day Monday, so our community can enjoy a rare look inside the fences of this key Otago business.
The port turns 150 years old this year. What better way to celebrate than with our kaimahi and neighbours - the very people that we work alongside every day of the year.
The day's activities include free events:
- Port-wide bus tours
- Face painting
- Bouncy castles
- Fishing off the Beach Street Wharf
- Displays of our dredging plant, straddles and forklifts
- Fenz and Coastguard displays
There will be a selection of food stalls to satisfy hungry children and adults, alike.
General admission is $5/head or $20 for a family of five.
There are also limited numbers of add-on tours and rides:
- Tug boat rides ($30pp)
- Ship-to-shore crane tours ($50pp)
- Pilot launch rides ($100pp)
- Container ship tours ($50pp)
All proceeds from these tours will be donated to local organisations.
We are looking forward to proudly showing off our operations. See you there!
