Pretty Ugly: Toy Factory

Come and check out Toy Factory, a group exhibition of pop-culture-inspired art by the Pretty Ugly collective. We’ve had our best year ever here at the Pretty Ugly Toy Factory [PUTF .inc], thanks to our best-selling “Toby poops a-lot” stuffy and the ever-popular “My Little Goblin” action figures. As we approach Christmas again, I hope you’ll all have many more exciting ideas for new toys that we, here at PUTF .inc , can be even more proud of! I know that our talented design team will share my excitement about all the wonderful things we will showcase at the next show and that once again, we’ll show Deborah from accounts that the Wellington office just can’t be beat!

Pretty Ugly is a collective of Lowbrow artists who work in varied mediums with roots in pop culture, comics, surrealism, graffiti, collectible toys and tattoo art. Toy Factory explores the notions of childhood nostalgia and the tensions around the mass production and consumption of toys.
