The talk will cover the first sixty years of the Napier Borough Council – 1874-1934, with an introduction about the European settlement of Napier from 1851 until 1874 and why Napier petitioned to become a borough in 1874.
Elizabeth Pishief is a heritage consultant and local historian with a PhD in Heritage & Museum Studies. She has written numerous reports, papers, books and given talks on a wide variety of heritage topics.
