For all those with an interest in coins, banknotes and medals:
The Conference starts with a tour of numismatic collections of the Police Museum, Te Papa, Parliament, and the Reserve Bank at 9am on Friday 11 October, starting from The Wellington Club (main venue) and reception that night (Bus available). On Saturday 12 October an all-day free public fair starts at 10 am until 4pm at the West Plaza Hotel, Wakefield St and the conference dinner follows at night at 6.30 pm for a 7 pm start, at The Wellington Club. Two full conference days with 37 speakers start at 8.45 am on Sunday 13 October and 9am on Monday 14 October, both days finishing at 5 pm.
Speakers include members of New Zealand University Classics Departments, ten overseas speakers including Tom Hockenhull (British Museum), Owen Linzmayer (USA, The Banknote Book), and Antony Harris (New Zealand Post), Ian Woolford (The Reserve Bank of New Zealand), members of the Orders and Medals Research Society, and of New Zealand and Australian numismatic societies.
