Give yourself over to absolute pleasure – Caluzzi, Event Cinemas, and Theta Project bring you The Rocky Horror Interactive Picture Show!

That’s right, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is back at the movies for one night only, for an interactive experience at Event Cinemas Newmarket. We screen the film and provide the props, you just turn up and join the party!

We’re taking over the ultra glamorous VMAX Cinema at the new Event Cinemas in Westfield Newmarket (Auckland). Choose your position in the cinema – daybeds, recliners or leather seats – and enjoy uninterrupted party vibes, with a bar inside the cinema.

In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), stuck with a flat tyre during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is slowly lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Meat Loaf) and a creepy butler (Richard O'Brien). Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular hunk named “Rocky".

Rocky Horror starts at 9:30pm, with our private function area for ticket holders open from 8:30pm – come early and have a cocktail with us. Entertainment will be provided by the hilarious Kita Mean (winner of RuPaul's Drag Race), and RuPaul's Drag Race Miss Congeniality Anita Wigl’it, with music curated by the fabulous DJ Jordan Eskra.


Costumes are encouraged, with prizes for the best dressed!
