FAQ

What is it?
Paddy G is going on a tour of New Zealand, visiting 14 places from Stewart Island to Waitangi. He will perform live in iconic venues in each place, bringing his “Paddy Vibes” everywhere he goes. “This Is The F#$%ing News” is coming to a stage near you.

What can people expect?
Paddy’s performance mixes journalism, stand-up comedy and motivational speaking. It is Paddy G live, telling yarns from his years as a journo, talking shit and giving uplifting messages about what it means to be a Kiwi. He'll talk about the personal issues he has overcome, and the issues New Zealand needs to overcome.

You call it a performance. Isn't Paddy a journalist?
It will feel a bit like going to watch stand-up, but there will be lots of serious stuff in there too. Paddy will make you laugh and he will make you think. Paddy will take the news and bring it to f#$%ing life!

Why is there so much f#$%ing swearing?
Paddy became a viral meme after swearing in a library during a news report. If you haven’t seen it, don’t worry - Paddy will do a blow-by-blow reenactment on stage. Paddy will talk about how saying "This Is The F#$%ng News" changed his life.

So will there be swearing on the night?
Yes.

Why is Paddy doing this?
Paddy lost his job this year and decided, “F#$% it, I will take the news on tour”. Paddy loves being out and about with Kiwis. He knows it has been a crappy year for a lot of them, and he wants to help give people a boost. Paddy wants to get around the country and listen and learn from people. Paddy has written a book called (wait for it) This Is The F#$%ing News. It shows how he was down, and what he did to get back up again. He wants to spread that message to others and help make New Zealand a  better place.

Will Paddy take questions from punters?
F#$% yes, that will be part of the fun.

Will there be some local stuff in it?
That’s part of the point. Paddy wants to get out and about. He’ll give his take on a local issue in each town. And he will celebrate a Good Kiwi in each town. If want to nominate some, contact Paddy.

Has anybody ever done this kind of thing before?
No. Absolutely not.
