Join us for afternoon tea and learn about Timebanking - where Time is our 'currency'!
Whangārei Timebank is a community of people who support each other through sharing their knowledge, skills and services, without exchanging money. Where everyone’s time is equal regardless of the type of exchange: 1hr = 1 time credit.
All exchanges of time earn you Time credits not dollars, which you can then exchange with another member who is offering the help you need. This might be garden work, dog walking, a lift, computer help, a massage, shopping or even an item that you need, the list is endless!
Timebank re-defines work by valuing time instead of money. As a member you get to enjoy building supportive and enriching relationships with other Timebankers, their friends and whānau, have access to our workshops, (eg breadmaking, fruit tree pruning, papermaking, knife sharpening, astrology, sausage making, herbal balm making, Kintsugi ....) community gardens and events that support more resilient communities.
This is an opportunity for event visitors to join Timebank members for afternoon tea and learn about Timebanking.
EcoSolutions will be running “Recycling Basics” for the Silver Festival at the same time in He Awhi Rito. By combining these two organisations with a social gathering for members, we are creating a relaxed, friendly, welcoming atmosphere that will encourage interested visitors to join our membership.
