What do you get when you combine two of Aotearoa's finest folk acts in one concert? More fun than you can poke a fiddle bow at!

To celebrate the release of their new album 'Men, Fish, Boat' and the single 'These Birds', which features both groups, Taranaki's folk trio “Turkey The Bird” and Auckland's ukulele legends “The Nukes” present a show of finely folked-up fun. Expect great songs, harmonious melodies, singalongs, and plenty of laughs. If you love your music on the acoustic side with a tinge of Kiwiana and humour, this is a night you won't want to miss!

The Nukes:
For over 15 years, this band of musical miscreants has been faithfully broadcasting harmony and happiness to the good people of Australasia. Innovative, inspiring, and entertaining, The Nukes have knocked the socks off audiences from Canterbury to Canberra (and most places in between). Their original music, scintillating live shows, and educational workshops are delivered with a healthy sense of humour. There is something for everyone in The Nukes experience. The ukulele is nothing to be afraid of, so if you hear The Nukes are in town, don’t duck and cover or try to be a hero, just grab a friend and head for ground zero.

The Nukes have graced the stages of WOMAD NZ, SPLORE, Auckland and Canterbury Folk Festivals, New Plymouth Festival Of Light, Wanaka Festival Of Colour, Coastella Festival, Southland Festival Of Arts, Bluff Oyster Festival, and a successful nationwide Arts On Tour NZ March 2017. They have also toured extensively in Australia.

“Original, inventive and entertaining…” Drew James, Taranaki Arts Festival
“The Nukes experience is uplifting, fun, and feel-good.” Amanda Wright, Erupt Festival

Turkey The Bird:
New Zealand's folk trio Turkey The Bird will remind you of the famous Margarita cocktail infused with a hint of Simon & Garfunkel, 2 ounces of Mumford and Sons, a splash of banjo, and served on ice on a sunny day. With catchy folk songs, stunning rich melodies, and effortless smooth lyrics, their songs tell uplifting stories about love and life. Hailing from New Plymouth, this uplifting band hits you with beautiful three-part harmonies and toe-tapping rhythms.

The bearded trio features Andre Manella from Switzerland on guitar, bass, and percussion, Adrian Whelan from Ireland on guitar, mandolin, bass, and spoons, and Sol Bear Coulton, the token kiwi, on banjo and slide guitar.

“Injects hoedown-showdown fun, fun, fun and the harmonies shine like diamonds.” Paul Cook, Joyzine UK

“That’s Turkey The Bird, great band, just love them.” Jesse Mulligan RNZ

“This is simply divine.” Jack from Flash-Trax com

“These guys are unpretentious, fun and very good at what they do.” Winston Watusi, The Weekend Sun

“This is not sad cowboy Americana neofolk, this is refreshing Kiwiana newgrass.” Patrick Loughran, Muzic.net.nz

“Bouncing jokes off each other like Forrest Gump playing table tennis.” Patrick Loughran, Muzic.net.nz

“The charisma is infectious, the fun is contagious.” Patrick Loughran, Muzic.net.nz

Join us for an unforgettable evening as "Turkey The Bird" and "The Nukes" bring their unique blend of folk magic to the stage. Don't miss out on this joyous musical celebration!
