WJC Emerging Artist Series presents Will Hanlon & Hector McLachlan

Elation. Wonder. Enchantment. Pride. Contentment. It is believed that these are a few of the many feelings you may experience when listening to the debut of saxophonist Will Hanlon’s original compositions. Inspired by the unique sounds of saxophonists Immanuel Wilkins & Melissa Aldana and the compositions of artists like Misha Panfilov & BadBadNotGood, Will’s tunes marry infectious grooves with passionate melodies and sparkling textures to create emotive musical journeys. Helping him bring the music to life will be Max Sheehan (drums), Raf Hosking (guitar) and Alex Cooper (bass). 

The Hectet is a group of four friends who are dedicated to the presentation of original jazz-adjacent groove music, composed and led by Hector McLachlan. This band of buddies consists of Phoebe Johnson on bass, Lennox Grootjans on drums, and Jasper Holloway on guitar. We will be having fun while exploring various figurative elaborations of concepts together. Hector can usually be found playing keys in legendary local act Revulva and has just returned this year from a world tour with The Teskey Brothers.
