2025 Scott Construction NZ ILCA (laser) National Champs

Nelson Yacht Club are proud to host the 2025 Scott Construction NZ ILCA National Championships over the 15th – 19th January 2025. Overlapping with the Tasman Bay Cruising Club’s annual Nelson Regatta, it is going to make for a spectacular showcase of sailing on Te Tai-o-Aorere / Tasman Bay.

The event is run in partnership with ILCA.nz the NZ ILCA class association.

We are grateful for the support of Scott Construction as headline sponsor, and Nelson City Council through the NCC Events Fund in putting on this event and showcasing Nelson as a world class sailing venue. We're also stoked to welcome Anchorage Estate Wines as a Silver Sponsor.

Racing will take place out in Te Tai-o-Aorere / Tasman Bay over the 16th - 19th January. Around 90 Competitors are expected from all across New Zealand, and including some international sailors as well. Whilst the racing will be hard to watch, located ~2 nautical miles out in the bay to find even tidal conditions, it will be quite a sight seeing the sailors launching and returning at the Nelson Yacht Club ramp.
