In her first solo show, Summer shares the ups and downs of life as a first-generation Chinese immigrant navigating Kiwi culture, from being the A+ daughter to mastering English with a little help from New Zealand TV. She dives into her parents’ obsession with grandchildren, casual racism, and fighting against stereotypes of the ‘gentle Asian woman.’

Whether it’s explaining her Kiwi husband’s love of Marmite to her parents or translating their concerns about his weight back to him, Summer hilariously brings both worlds to life. With quick-witted observations, personal stories, and the occasional sexy dance move, she explores family dynamics, identity, and belonging—with plenty of laughs along the way.
