Lilia Carpinelli (soprano) and Matteo Napoli (piano) present "A Touch of Italy" - a delightful programme of Italian songs and arias ranging from Baroque to Romantic opera, interspersed with piano solos and closing with a bracket of Neapolitan songs.
Arriving from Italy in 2008 these two highly accomplished musicians, who have performed widely around the world, are based in Auckland where Matteo is Director of the Vivaldi Music Academy and Lilia a busy teacher and performer who is a New Zealand Opera Freemasons Resident Artist and a member of the NBR Chapman Opera Chorus.
Their programme includes songs by Vivaldi, Rossini, Tosti and Bellini, leading to some of the best-loved operatic arias by Puccini and Verdi. Piano solos by Scarlatti and Galuppi and Liszt's famous Tarantella from "Venezia and Napoli" will add variety to the concert which will close with a bracket of light-hearted Neapolitan songs.
