Auckland Regional Bindery

For anyone who has an interest in the art of Bookbinding, The Auckland Regional Bindery offers free use of the bindery to ALL ABC members and training to those who are interested in the art of book making.
Sunday the 23rd of March is our next get together for individuals who would like to know the basics of the art of book binding.
You will learn about the introduction to bookbinding: terminology, tools and materials, different styles of binding, structure of paper, grain, grammage, paper handling, and repair principles. Practical work is a pamphlet stitch booklet and 2 styles of covers. You will make a miniature book that you can take home with you.
Everything is there so no need to bring anything.
As part of the fee you will have access to the Historical Village in Howick to look around, a lunch break for 30 minutes will see you going to the local cafe (at your cost) or bring your own lunch.
