While this is the inaugural Blues & Jazz by the Sea Riverton, it builds upon a rich history of music and community gatherings at the iconic Riverton soundshell.

Over the decades, this beloved venue at Taramea Bay hosted numerous concerts and events that became a key part of Riverton’s cultural fabric.

We’re excited to continue this legacy, offering new generations of families and friends the chance to create lasting memories in the heart of the South. This event is designed with families in mind, offering a safe, welcoming, and smoke-free environment where everyone can enjoy the day. Children will love the free bouncy castles, face painting, and the legendary playground right next door. And, of course, the whole family can enjoy an afternoon of incredible music. Bring your own picnic, beach chairs, and umbrellas to set up your perfect spot. The cider, beer and wine is chilled and ready to go, or enjoy an array of tasty treats from seafood to candy floss.
