Bug of the Year Poetry Slam

Get ready for a buzzing good time at this year’s Bug of the Year Poetry Slam!

In collaboration with the New Zealand Poetry Society Te Rōpū Toikupu o Aotearoa, poets from all over have submitted their creative haikus and poems—both in English and te reo Māori—celebrating their favorite Bug of the Year nominees or just their love for bugs in general. At this lively event, we’ll showcase some of the best submissions, leading up to the announcement of the winners!

Whether you’re a fan of poetry or simply adore bugs, this FREE event will be full of surprises, with winning poems featured on Te Rōpū Toikupu o Aotearoa’s website and in Entomological Society of New Zealand publications. Come join the fun and celebrate the wonderful world of bugs through the art of words!
