Cook like a Middle Eastern: Koshary Edition

Come and visit Glenfield Library to explore an exhibition of traditional Middle Eastern kitchen utensils and basic cooking tools from Sunday, March 30th to April 6th. Then, join us at Glenfield Community Centre at 11am, on Saturday, 5 April for a celebratory event.
Immerse yourself in Middle Eastern culture by experiencing the flavour of Koshary, a popular and iconic Egyptian dish. Discover the rich history and traditions behind the food, watch a captivating cooking demonstration, practise using special cooking tools, and enjoy a delicious food shared with new friends you will meet at the event.
Koshary stands out for its distinctive layering of flavors and textures, but it shares the universal appeal of simple, affordable, and satisfying comfort food. Several countries have dishes that are similar to it, including Lebanon, Syria and India.
It is extremely popular today for its healthy vegetarian ingredients.
