It’s that time again when Orewa Beach Kindergarten is gearing up for its biggest community fundraiser, The Ducky Derby!
This is a free, fun-filled day for family, friends, and the community. There are games and entertainment, prizes, food, and, of course, the main event: 750 yellow ducks, overseen by the Orewa Surf Club, race down the Orewa Estuary. Great prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the individual Duck race!
The Ducky Derby is at the Western Reserve, Orewa (by the Orewa Skatepark) on Saturday, 15 March 2025. The event will run from 9 am - 12 pm with the race scheduled for 11 am.
The event, supported by both Rotary and Lions Club always draws a crowd. It is a community favourite seeing hundreds of families attend each year.
