The Taranaki Symphony Orchestra looks forward to the return of Uwe Grodd, Principal Guest Conductor, to direct Echoes of Europe - a celebrated programme of 19th century orchestral works from Italy, Norway and the Czech Republic. Following her success in previous performances with the TSO, we also look forward to the return of concert pianist, Rosa Scaffidi. Now based in New Plymouth, Rosa will join Uwe and the TSO to present Edvard Grieg's celebrated and much-loved Piano Concerto in A minor. With Gioachino Rossini's Overture to 'The Barber of Seville' to open the concert, and Antonin Dvořák's Symphony No. 6 to close, this will be a performance of rich, lyrical melodies, great diversity, lively rhythms and full, colourful orchestral sounds.
