You're in for a night of hefty belly laughs with one of Aotearoa’s most celebrated comedians, Eli Matthewson!! An icon in New Zealand's comedy scene, Eli is the 2021 Fred Award winner and a familiar face on 7 Days, Celebrity Treasure Island, Paddy Gower Has Issues, and five NZ Comedy Galas. He made history as part of the first same-sex couple on Dancing With The Stars NZ, bringing his signature charm and wit to screens across the country.

Beyond the stage, Eli is an award-winning writer, having served as Head Writer for Have You Been Paying Attention and worked on hit shows like Jono and Ben and Funny Girls. He also co-created the beloved sitcom Golden Boy and co-hosts the wildly popular podcast The Male Gayz with Chris Parker, which has entertained thousands since 2016 and inspired two hit web series.

A co-founder of the legendary improv show Snort, which enjoyed a decade-long run, Eli’s comedic talent knows no bounds. Now, he’s bringing his sharp, hilarious and proudly queer perspective to Pride Wairau Festival 2025 for a night of stand-up you won’t want to miss!

Tickets are strictly limited for this event, first in best dressed! See you there.
